Thomas Palmer’s Will

Extracted from the Registry of the Lord Bishop of Peterborough -

On the eighth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty nine. Letters of administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of Thomas Palmer late of Milton in the county of Northampton victualler intestate deceased were commited and granted to Elizabeth Ward (the wife of John Ward) the Sister of the said deceased She having been first sworn upon the Holy Evangelists before the Rev I Watkin Clerk BD a surrogate lawfully appointed well and faithfully to administer the same and at the same time make Oath that the said deceased at the time of his death was not posessed of a Personal Estate to the amount of One hundred Pounds.
